At Achiever Maps, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive insights into your child's cognitive abilities through IQ testing. This valuable assessment tool offers a focused evaluation of your child's intellectual potential and problem-solving skills, providing essential information for educational planning and program placement.
What is IQ Testing?
IQ testing, also known as intelligence testing, is a specialized evaluation used by Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEPs) and School Psychologists to assess an individual's cognitive functioning. This assessment is not a comprehensive psychoeducational evaluation; rather, it focuses specifically on an individual's cognitive abilities.
Key Areas Assessed:
During IQ testing, we evaluate several key areas, including:
Culturally Responsive Approach:
We understand the importance of cultural responsiveness in assessment and ensure that IQ testing is conducted in a manner that respects and considers the diverse backgrounds and experiences of every individual.
Supporting Gifted Program Enrollment:
IQ testing can be particularly useful for parents seeking to enroll their child in a gifted program that requires IQ scores for admission. Our comprehensive IQ testing services provide the necessary information to support your child's application to gifted programs and educational opportunities.
Empowering Informed Decisions:
By choosing IQ testing at Achiever Maps, you are taking an important step toward gaining a deeper understanding of your child's cognitive abilities. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about your child's educational journey.
Fee: $500.00
Our standalone IQ testing service includes the assessment, a comprehensive written report with full-scale IQ and index area descriptions, and a 50-minute consultation with our Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) in person, over the phone, or via virtual conferencing.

IQ testing can be conducted on individuals as young as 2 years old, depending on the specific assessment tools used. At Achiever Maps, we conduct these cognitive assessments on individuals ages 6 to adult.
The duration of an IQ testing session can vary based on the individual being assessed and the specific assessment tools used. We can provide an estimate based on your child's needs before testing begins. Typically, it takes approximately 90 minutes.
We are trained to create a supportive and comfortable environment for children during the testing process. We prioritize your child's well-being and strive to make the experience as positive as possible. Breaks are offered between subtests, and testing sessions can also be split up over multiple days if necessary.
No. While parental presence during the assessment can vary based on the child's age and individual needs, we strive to create a comfortable and supportive environment for children during the evaluation process. We have a lobby directly outside the testing room, as well as a play area for younger children.
Once the IQ testing is completed, we will interpret the results and provide you with a detailed report outlining your child's cognitive strengths and areas for growth. We will also offer recommendations for educational planning based on the assessment findings.
We do not accept insurance at this time. Our practice can provide the necessary documentation for insurance reimbursement upon request.
IQ testing can provide valuable insights into your child's cognitive abilities, helping to inform educational decisions, identify potential areas for support, and guide the development of personalized learning plans. Additionally, most gifted programs require a standardized cognitive assessment as part of their application and enrollment process.
